Don't bother to read this

Firstly, more babe pics are on the way, I have deleted many of the old ones to create some space.

I watched the brilliant “Life on Mars” on BBC1 last night. Only one more episode to go and then there will be nothing at all that I can watch on the appalling BBC.

It seems that reality shows, makeovers, and every other cheap bit of crap (celebrity ice skating) is all they are capable of delivering these days. But more concerning is the number of complete morons who are actually entertained by this crap.

Just before Christmas, one of the obscure BBC channels (either 3 or 4) showed some late night examples of programming from the 50’s and 60’s and I was fortunate enough to see some of these pioneering shows on this repeat.

One example was the “Brain’s trust”. This was nothing more than a host, four invited guests (with linguistic and cognitive skills) and a series of written questions submitted by mail from regular viewers. Each question promoted a discussion and the shear pleasure of listening to educated and eloquent people talk about interesting subjects (e.g. what is the soul?) in an intelligent but entertaining way was a pleasure I had long since forgotten.

Regrettably an audience (in the UK at least) for this kind of programming no longer exists. I wonder why.

But yes I can figure it out after all.

As an example, just before Christmas I made a motoring manoeuvre to avoid a car that cut across in front of me. I swerved, blew my horn and in turn had the car behind sound off at me. The lady in the car in front flashed her indicators, put her hand up and acknowledged her (human) mistake. In kind, when we pulled up at some traffic lights ahead, the car that had been behind me was now to my side, so I wound down my window to apologise and explain my swerve.

My reward! I was told to “just F… off” by the middle aged bald driver who had a young female child next to him in the passenger seat. At least I know of one person who watches celebrity ice skating!
