Confirmation that zeal is dead

The closing of zeal by the appalling LookSmart group on 28th March was not, as some are suggesting, a pre-curser to an April the first joke.

The zeal directory has now been permanently closed. It has not been sold on, or used for any other purpose. Attempts are being made to get former zeal contributors to join LookSmart’s latest “dinosaur in waiting”, furl! Hopefully most will have more sense.

Ultimately they will destroy furl in the same way that they have done with zeal and, in the past, grub. LookSmart will shortly be consigned to the “relic of the past” bin themselves – in fact they are already there, they just have not realised it yet.
