Scammed by x9internet.com (+a hot babe)
I purchased (or so I thought) a domain and web hosting plan last night from http://x9internet.com. My account was debited immediately, but on checking today, I see that not only have I received no correspondence from them, but the domain they are supposed to have registered to me is still available. They scammed me.
If you are not web literate, you will not be aware that, along with the building industry and motor trade, hosting plans and domain purchases are the big cowboy areas for the unscrupulous. In fact, even the “better” web hosts are poor and often try to register “your domain” in “their name”, so my experience with x9internet.com is nothing new.
What can you do when this happens, I hear you ask?
Ultimately you can invariably get your money back after some threats, but the cowboys themselves make email contact near impossible without a unique logon and password. The other scam, which I am sure the aforementioned will try, is to purchase the domain you are after, and then try to sell it back to you at a premium. If you can prove that this is profiteering and malicious (plus a breech of client confidentiality), you can probably sue them. Anyway, I will lose no sleep over it.
Today’s babe.
